Real overturns “SuperBarça” with 2-1 win at Zubieta

Real beat “SuperBarça” 2-1 at Zubieta after conceding the opening goal in the first minute. Guijarro put the visitors ahead, but Cecilia and then Ainhoa Marín turned the match around. It was Real’s second consecutive victory and its first home league win of the season. The result also lifted the team out of the relegation zone.
The response came quickly. Cecilia equalised in the 13th minute, and Real did not fold after falling behind, instead putting Barça under pressure with an assertive display. Real Sociedad had a particularly strong first half.
Guijarro’s opener came from a left-footed strike from the edge of the area after Apari failed to clear the ball cleanly. For the winner, Ainhoa Marín ran into space onto a pass from Nerea Eizagirre, after combining with Cecilia, and finished with a powerful left-footed shot. Real had another clear chance when Esther sent Marín through one-on-one with Cata Coll, but her effort went over.
Barça had more of the ball and kept pushing, but struggled to find room for shots. Real’s players repeatedly got in the way of attempts. Estensoro produced a reflex save against Guijarro inside the area, while a dangerous effort from Camino, set up by Cecilia, was blocked. Barça also used all its options from the bench.
Real had to withstand another spell of pressure late on. In the 81st minute, the referee initially awarded a penalty after Esther appeared to bring down Kerolin, then reversed the decision after reviewing the incident at Real’s request.
The victory ended a long unbeaten run for the opposition: it had not lost for almost a year, and its previous defeat had also come at Zubieta. Gorka Álvarez’s 5-4-1 setup, with Nerea Eizagirre as a mobile forward, formed part of the performance. With Paula Fernández unavailable through injury, Estensoro started in goal.
