Bremer calls out Juventus teammates after Lazio defeat

Juventus were beaten 3-0 by Lazio in Turin, and Bremer delivered a blunt message to his teammates after the match. Oliver Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored for Lazio. The Brazilian defender accepted that Juventus had performed poorly, while suggesting that the coaching staff’s instructions alone could not explain the team’s problems.
Bremer also felt Juventus had competed reasonably well before conceding, but failed to make their chances count. Lazio went ahead shortly before half-time when Oliver Provstgaard headed in a cross from Mattia Zaccagni. Before the break, a Nuno Tavares attempt deflected off Gleison Bremer and struck the outside of the crossbar. Juventus went into the dressing room to the sound of their supporters’ whistles.
Juventus began the second half with a brief burst of energy, but Lazio struck again on a counter-attack. In the 66th minute, Gustav Isaksen, named player of the match, collected a pass from Nuno Tavares and finished with a shot across goal. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru also scored, completing Lazio’s 3-0 victory.
The defeat underlined the gap between the teams in the Serie A standings after seven rounds: Lazio are second on 19 points, while Juventus sit eighth with 11. Lazio remain unbeaten, with six wins and one draw, 14 goals scored and four conceded. Juventus have three wins, two draws and two defeats, with nine goals scored and eight conceded. The teams are separated by eight points.
Bremer summed up his assessment plainly: “We have played a bad match, and we are feeling bad, as is normal, especially when you wear the Juventus shirt. We have to think about the next game and start again.” Asked whether the players needed to take responsibility rather than expect the manager to solve every problem, he agreed: “You are right about the first thing you said: the manager gives instructions, but in the end we are the ones who go out onto the pitch. There are 11 players plus five substitutes. I cannot carry everyone. I can talk and help, but each person has their own character.”
