Fernando Alonso to get an official biography in March 2027

Fernando Alonso is to have an official biography, titled “Alonso”, scheduled for publication in March 2027. British journalist Andrew Benson will write the book. Its release is planned for the start of the next campaign in the premier category, as a new title battle begins. Alonso is an Aston Martin F1 driver.

Marca describes the publication as fulfilling a long-standing demand surrounding the driver. The outlet points to a Formula 1 career marked by success, major stories and controversy as the reason interest in an official account has persisted. The biography is intended to go beyond the public timeline of his career, examining Alonso’s personality and competitiveness, and how those qualities have accompanied his victories, controversies and defining moments.

Books about the driver have already been published. Marca also cites the 2020 sports documentary “Fernando”, describing it as one of the best in its field. The new book promises a different perspective, looking past the familiar milestones. Marca says the behind-the-scenes story, including decisions affecting championships and changes of team, has so far emerged from Alonso’s public comments only in fragments.

To convey the appeal of such a portrait, Marca depicts Alonso as a driver of many sides: a two-time champion, a challenger to the favourites, a controversial figure, a title contender, an endurance reference and a master of comebacks. The outlet adds that rivals admire him, teammates fear him and his personality fuels debate among fans. That complexity, Marca says, is central to the book, alongside the driver’s talent.

The announcement comes with six rounds left in the 2026 season. After 17 of 23 races, Alonso is 17th on 7 points and has no wins. Andrea Kimi Antonelli leads the standings on 340 points, 333 ahead. The current standings contrast with a book looking back at the episodes that shaped Alonso’s career and the decisions made away from public view.
