Olympique de Marseille and Le Havre will meet on Sunday at 5:15 p.m. in the eighth round of Ligue 1. RMC Sport reports that the match will go ahead at its scheduled time. Broadcaster Ligue 1+ had considered moving it to the evening if PSG-Lyon was postponed, but that change will not happen. Both teams had been sounded out about a possible change of time.
The scenario was linked to PSG-OL, the final match of the round, scheduled for Sunday at 8:45 p.m. RMC Sport reports that it could be postponed because of the heavy police deployment expected over the weekend for the second round of demonstrations for a “lower cost of living.” If the Paris Police Prefecture orders the postponement, the LFP could still seek to move another match into the vacant slot.
On the pitch, the sides are separated by seven points in the standings: Marseille are ninth with 9 points, while Le Havre are 18th with 2. After seven matches, Marseille have three wins and four defeats, with no draws. Le Havre have yet to win, recording two draws and five defeats.
The scoring and defensive figures also show a gap: Marseille have scored 14 goals and conceded 10, compared with Le Havre’s 5 scored and 11 conceded. In their last five Ligue 1 matches, Marseille have won twice and lost three times; Le Havre have drawn once and lost four times.
At home, Marseille have one win and two defeats from three matches, scoring 7 goals and conceding 5. Le Havre have no home wins in four matches, with one draw and three defeats, scoring 2 and conceding 6. Away from home, Marseille have two wins and two defeats in four matches, while Le Havre have drawn once and lost twice in three away games. The fixture therefore keeps its scheduled time as the decision on PSG-Lyon, and any resulting changes to the round’s schedule, remain pending.
