Hansi Flick has won six of his seven official meetings with Madrid, with one defeat. Across those seven matches, his side scored 22 goals and conceded 11. Mundo Deportivo also links Flick with four titles in these Clásicos. The Spanish newspaper says the record has made him one of the rivalry’s prominent figures in recent seasons.
Flick’s first Clásico in charge of Barça came on October 26, 2024. At the Santiago Bernabéu, Barça won 0-4 after a goalless first half. Robert Lewandowski scored twice, before Lamine Yamal and Raphinha completed the scoring. Lewandowski’s brace therefore marked a winning start for Flick in the fixture. Madrid were also caught offside 12 times, with Kylian Mbappé involved in eight of those occasions.
Another emphatic result came in a final played in Saudi Arabia. Madrid went ahead through Kylian Mbappé, but Barça turned the match around to win 5-2. Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Alejandro Balde scored. It was Flick’s first Clásico contested for a title, adding a convincing final victory to his record.
In another episode of the rivalry, Barça took the lead through Pedri. Madrid replied with goals from Mbappé and Tchouaméni, and the teams played out a contest full of swings and emotion until the final moments. The account of that match also describes refereeing controversy: Tchouaméni was not sent off, a handball by the Frenchman did not bring a penalty, and a Fermín goal was later disallowed for handball in the build-up.
Two weeks later, on May 11, another Clásico became a notable chapter in the rivalry. Madrid went 0-2 up at Montjuïc through two Mbappé goals, but Barça fought back. Eric Garcia reduced the deficit, Lamine Yamal levelled, and Raphinha scored twice to make it 4-2 before half-time. Mbappé completed his hat-trick after the break, but Barça held on: the 4-3 result proved decisive in the LaLiga title race.
Flick’s first Clásico defeat came on October 26, 2025, when Madrid won 2-1 at the Bernabéu. Fermín López scored Barça’s only goal, which was not enough to avoid defeat. In January 2026, the teams met again in the Spanish Super Cup final, which Barça won. The latest chapter cited came in May 2026, when Barça prevailed 2-0 in the league. Those two most recent meetings have put the Catalan club back at the centre of the rivalry.
