Mustapha Hadji believes Brahim Diaz does not deserve a Morocco call-up in his current situation. In an exclusive video interview with Kooora, the former Morocco international advised him to leave Real Madrid for the Roshn League, with the aim of preserving his place in the national side.

Hadji acknowledged the stature of the Madrid club but said a move to Saudi Arabia would be preferable if an offer arrived. “He plays for the biggest club in the world, but frankly, I advise him to leave for the Saudi league if there is an offer,” he said. His recommendation is conditional; it is not an announcement that a transfer is happening.

The former international said he follows the Roshn League closely. He pointed to the presence of foreign players of a very high standard and described the competition there as tough. In his view, the league could give Diaz a setting in which he would have a better chance of playing regularly.

The advice comes as Diaz has had little playing time at Real Madrid since José Mourinho returned at the start of the current season. Although Diaz has performed well during his appearances this season and provided two assists in the Champions League, competition for attacking positions has made it difficult for him to secure a starting place. Hadji believes Diaz’s continued exclusion from the club side means he is no longer part of Mohamed Ouahbi’s plans for Morocco.

He also argued that a call-up would be difficult to justify if Diaz is playing only a few minutes for Real Madrid. Hadji reiterated that, in his view, the player does not deserve selection in those circumstances. He said he hoped to see him join a major Saudi club or move to another league, where he could play “more than an hour in every match.”

Separately, press reports say Al-Ittihad is seriously considering signing Diaz in the next winter transfer window, in January, and preparing a significant offer. That reported possibility aligns with the type of move Hadji discussed, but it does not amount to confirmation of a transfer.
