Kylian Mbappé is still not training with the France squad. The France captain is on bed rest with a flu-like illness, according to the French federation, which has not specified how long his recovery is expected to take.
His condition makes him doubtful for France’s opening match in Nations League Group A, scheduled for Friday against Turkey. After that trip, France will play three further matches in the competition: against Belgium on 28 September in Brussels, then at Saint-Denis against Italy and Belgium again on 2 and 5 October.
Mbappé has yet to take part in a training session since joining the squad’s camp in Clairefontaine on Monday. He was initially rested after playing the derby against Atlético the previous day; he then missed the session led by Zinedine Zidane because of the flu-like illness, the French federation said.
Before the public training session, the other 22 players called up by Zinedine Zidane signed autographs and posed for photographs with supporters.
