Mariona Caldentey earns Arsenal a late win over HB Køge

Mariona Caldentey rescued Arsenal in stoppage time against HB Køge (1-0), as the London club opened their new Champions League campaign. The former Barça player converted a penalty in the 90+3rd minute to give the Gunners the win.

A leading figure for the English side since arriving from the Blaugrana club, Caldentey took responsibility from the spot and made no mistake. Arsenal, the reigning European champions after lifting the title against Barça in 2025, had to wait until the closing stages to find their way to victory.

Arsenal's two other Spanish players, Ona Batlle and Misa Rodríguez, did not play a single minute. Both were included in the squad for the match but did not take the field, while the former Real Madrid goalkeeper is still waiting for her opportunity.

In the other results, Inter Milan beat Häcken 1-0 thanks to an early Bugeja goal, collecting their first three points. Benfica won 2-1 away to Juventus. Elsewhere, Lund's brace opened up a gap before Alba Redondo pulled one back late on.
