Harry Kane and Bayern close to agreeing a contract extension

Harry Kane is close to extending his stay at Bayern Munich, although a deal has not yet been finalised. Transfer-market specialist Florian Plettenberg reports that the England forward and the club have reached an agreement in principle to extend their relationship through 2029. Talks are said to have made substantial progress in recent hours, though a few details remain to be settled.

Discussions are now reportedly at an almost definitive stage, with the signing imminent. Kane joined Bayern in the summer of 2023 from Tottenham and has become the German side’s leading attacking reference. His goals in the Bundesliga have met expectations, and an extension would bring him closer to continuing with the club through 2029, with the Allianz Arena set to remain his home.

Kane’s current Bayern contract expires in 2027. Extending it through 2029 would therefore represent a further commitment from the club to its forward, whose intention has always been to stay in Munich despite interest from major European clubs. For now, the agreement remains a principle deal: the final details and signature are still to come.
