Atlético are tracking Gianluca Prestianni, several media outlets report

Several media outlets in the neighbouring country report that Atlético are closely monitoring Gianluca Prestianni, the 20-year-old Benfica player. The interest comes as the Madrid club prepares for future seasons, assessing possible targets without any guarantee that they will sign them. Its sporting department is watching players who could suit its future plans, in a market described as highly challenging and inflated.

Prestianni, who is represented by Jorge Mendes, is also attracting interest from several Premier League clubs. Media in Portugal nevertheless report that Atlético are keeping a close watch on him as well.

The potential cost presents a major obstacle: the player’s release clause is set at 100 million euros. That figure could put him beyond Atlético and many other interested clubs. If the Madrid club’s interest were to develop further, Prestianni would come up against Vinicius Junior again in LaLiga.

The young player was also given a six-match sanction by UEFA after making discriminatory insults against the Real Madrid forward during a Champions League match played in February 2026.
