Hossam Abdel Meguid’s agent says Al Ahly made no official approach

Hossam Abdel Meguid’s agent has addressed reports of negotiations with Al Ahly, saying the club has made no official approach to the Ludogorets defender. Samer Salama also said his player had no intention of returning to Egypt in the near future.

« Il n’y a aucune intention que Hossam retourne en Égypte; le joueur évolue bien et est devenu titulaire avec l’équipe, et il s’est rapidement adapté à l’équipe », Salama said during an appearance on the Modern channel. He added that Hossam had started for Egypt’s national team in its three most recent matches.

On the reports linking the player with Al Ahly, the agent said: « Il n’y a eu aucun contact officiel d’Al Ahly avec moi, et s’il y a un contact, il se fera par l’intermédiaire d’agents afin de connaître les souhaits de l’agent ou du joueur. »

The clarification comes as Hossam Abdel Meguid continues his professional experience with Ludogorets. He has secured a starting place there and has also continued to feature for Egypt’s national team. For now, his agent’s comments rule out an imminent return to the Egyptian league and distinguish transfer talk from any official approach.
