Egypt and Morocco have qualified for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing in the top two of the UNAF zone qualifiers, held in Egypt. The teams had contrasting results on the final matchday, scheduled for Tuesday.
Egypt beat Algeria 2-0, while Morocco lost 3-2 to Libya. The results did not alter the identity of the two qualifiers: at the end of the final round, hosts Egypt finished first with 9 points, with Morocco second on 7.
Algeria and Libya shared third place with 4 points apiece. Tunisia, which had no match on the final day, finished bottom with 3 points. It drew against Algeria, Libya and Morocco, and lost to Egypt.
The final standings therefore confirmed the qualification of the top two teams from the regional qualifiers for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Egypt strengthened its position at the top on the closing matchday, while Morocco held on to second place despite its defeat by Libya.
