Diego Moyano, from the 2012 generation, trained with the senior players on Thursday. It is another sign of the confidence Luís Castro places in young players: the Portuguese coach has already given Marc Santos his debut at the age of 15. Luís Castro, the Levante coach, is also portrayed as willing to take a chance on a 14-year-old.
The coach has given opportunities to many young players without letting age stand in the way. That boldness has come alongside results and brought the coach and his squad closer together, the team’s account says. Moyano’s call-up to train with the first team marks a further step in that approach.
Moyano is a right-footed centre-back, noted for his ability to play out from the back and his strength in the air. He can also play at right-back.
Marc Santos made his debut on 16 August 2026 against RCD Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium. Another young player, 19-year-old Yanis Musuayi, joined Levante after standing out as one of Belgium’s prospects for the future.
