Although he had little playing time under Hansi Flick during the 2024-2025 season, Pau Víctor says he learned an important lesson from his former coach: discipline and effort are essential in professional football. The Sporting Braga forward, who played for Barça, also stressed the intensity of training under the German coach.
In an interview with Cadena SER’s « Què t'hi Jugues » programme, Víctor described the impact of those sessions: « There are videos of Gavi and me lying on the ground with our legs in the air. I finished several training sessions feeling dizzy. » He added that what people say about Flick’s strictness is true.
The former Barça player also praised Gerard Martín, who is approaching his 100th first-team appearance: « What he is doing is incredible. I didn’t expect it, but he absolutely deserves it. » Víctor said Martín fits the profile Flick values: a diligent player who stays on in the gym and asks for extra training and video sessions.
Speaking about Barça this season, Víctor also praised Raphinha, particularly his ability to reinvent himself, defend and press. Settled in Portugal, he said he was very happy with his team and city, and described the club’s facilities as « really very good ».
