Sanse travel to Vigo tonight to face Celta Fortuna, aiming to end a run of three consecutive defeats. The two sides have the same number of points and near-identical records, but Celta Fortuna sit behind them in the table because of an inferior goal difference. The Galician club are playing in the second division for the first time this season.
Fortuna have gone four rounds without a win. They lost 3-2 in Gijón, where Pablo Meixús was sent off; he will therefore miss the match against Sanse. Their most recent victory came in Ceuta more than a month ago, by a 2-0 scoreline.
Sanse’s three defeats have not all been poor performances. Against Mallorca and Granada at Zubieta, the team played well but lost 0-1 and then 2-3 after being pegged back. In Ceuta, they had taken the lead before going down in a controversial match.
Sanse will need to adjust against another reserve side: young and talented, but still short on experience in the competition. In the 24-25 season, they had not faced an academy side since round 38 of the Primera RFEF, against Celta at Zubieta. David Gálvez will be on VAR duty, as he was in Ceuta.
