Andorra returned to winning ways in El Principado, edging Castellón by the narrowest margin. A first-half goal from Sidibe secured the three points and handed Castellón their first defeat. Pablo Hernández’s side had been unbeaten until this match.
Andorra came into the game after taking four points from their previous two away matches. Their bright start was rewarded with Moró Sidibe’s goal, following an earlier effort from Efe Akman that was ruled out for offside against Sidibe, who had supplied the pass. Castellón tried to respond with a high press, but Jordi Cano found space and set up Sidibe in the penalty area. This time, the goal stood. Castellón then came close to conceding a second from a corner.
Castellón began the second half on the front foot. Andorra soon regained possession and looked to attack into space, before holding out against the visitors’ response during a more difficult second period.
More pragmatic but still true to their identity, Carles Manso’s team ended their wait for another home win and made their strong start count. For Castellón, the result brought their unbeaten run to an end.
