Jon Martín described the controversial sending-off as “harsh”, saying that both players were holding each other. The defender gave his view after the win over Deportivo de A Coruña, a match in which he scored in the first half.
He said his team had started well, moving 2-0 ahead before scoring a third goal on the counter after the break. The dismissal then made the game more difficult, he explained: it turned into a more open contest, but his side defended well and were pleased with the points.
Asked about the incident that led to Pablo Marín’s straight red card during the penalty involving Nsongo, Jon Martín qualified his assessment: “The sending-off is a little harsh. They’re both holding each other, but the referee sees a penalty and you have to respect that.”
