Daniel Maldini found the net again in Serie A, but Cagliari could not hold on to their lead against Juventus. At Unipol Domus, the Sardinians went in front in the 20th minute before Kolo Muani equalised in the 81st, leaving the match at 1-1.

The draw keeps Cagliari fourth, three points behind leaders Inter. Juventus, meanwhile, drop to eighth and are now six points off the top. The result also extends Maldini’s scoring run: he has found the net in each of the last four rounds. His goals have already earned Cagliari seven points.

The equaliser came when Alajbegovic delivered from the left and Kolo Muani headed the ball into the net. It was the Frenchman’s first Serie A goal of the season. After trying without success to switch his side to a 4-4-1-1 in the first half, Luciano Spalletti made two changes at the break. Juventus then came close to a second goal: the crossbar denied another Kolo Muani effort, and Caprile gathered Nick Woltemade’s close-range header on the rebound.

At the other end, the opening goal came from a move involving Daniele Maldini. His attempted one-two did not come off, but Paul Mendy collected the loose ball and laid it back for Maldini to finish from close range. The match was watched by 16,334 spectators at Unipol Domus.
