Al-Hilal have received a “major boost” ahead of Tuesday’s meeting with Al-Sadd at Hamad bin Jassim Stadium in Doha. The fixture is part of the second round of the AFC Champions League Elite. The expected lift comes from Sergej Savic: after completing his rehabilitation programme, he took part in team training on Monday, and Okaz reported that he is set to return against Al-Sadd.
The prospect comes as Salem Al-Dawsari continues his treatment and rehabilitation programme at the Al-Majdiah sports centre. Hamad Al-Yami took part in the opening segment of the latest training session.
Simone Inzaghi hopes his team can beat Al-Sadd and collect all three points, which would take them to six in the Western clubs group. Savic’s expected return would therefore provide reinforcement ahead of the fixture, while the coach has made his target clear.
FootballMikel Arteta confirmed both players were injured in training and will miss Tuesday’s Champions League match. Hincapié’s injury appears more serious as the club awaits further scans.
FootballSchalke lost 2-1 to Freiburg despite having a numerical advantage after a sending-off. Coach Miron Muslić said his tactical changes disrupted his team.
FootballGetafe has reached an agreement with Dani Carvajal and is waiting for LaLiga’s approval. The club is also exploring another midfield option.
