“You want to play for Morocco,” Abqar told Lamine during the match between Barcelona and Getafe. He made the remark as Barça players protested a refereeing decision, in a scene that initially went unnoticed and was later brought back into view by El Día Después de Movistar Plus after Saturday’s match.
The incident followed a one-on-one between Gordon and David Soria near Getafe’s penalty area. Referee Jesús Gil Manzano called a foul by the Barcelona forward on the goalkeeper. Barça’s players felt the decision should have gone the other way and moved towards the referee to complain.
Lamine Yamal was among those who approached the official. He argued: “But he gets the shot away in the end, he gets the shot away in the end.” Abqar then came over and repeated: “Lamine, Lamine, you want to play for Morocco. Lamine, you do.”
During the protest, the Getafe player followed the Barcelona player. Lamine tried to get away by pushing Abqar aside with his arm. The Getafe defender kept after him as the referee stood by his decision, and Lamine eventually walked away.
