Getafe officially announce Carvajal’s arrival on a free transfer

Getafe have officially announced the arrival of Carvajal on a free transfer. The right-back scored 10 goals for Real Madrid over the course of his career. Getafe and Real Madrid are based in the same city, Madrid.

The club announced the signing on its official account and welcomed the player: « Dani Carvajal est un nouveau joueur du club… Bienvenue au Coliseum, Dani ». Getafe has disclosed neither the details of the deal nor the length of the contract.

There are, however, reported reservations about registering Dani in the squad. Spanish media have said that La Liga had concerns about the contract submitted by Getafe, which the league considers far below what it should be, raising doubts about its real value.

Earlier in his career, Carvajal spent most of his professional years at Real Madrid, having joined the club’s youth teams before reaching the first team in 2012. He was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen for the 2012-2013 season, and his final contract with Real Madrid expired in the summer of 2026. Aged 34, he is joining a club in the same city.
