“I can’t wait for you to see me running down the wing,” Daniel Carvajal told Getafe supporters. The 34-year-old right-back has joined the club after several months without a team, following the absence of a renewal offer from Real Madrid.
His arrival comes against a particular backdrop: Getafe have a fierce rivalry with Leganés, where Carvajal is from. The defender has already completed his first training session under José Bordalás and is working to reach the same physical level as his teammates.
In his message, Carvajal greeted the supporters and reflected on his first day at the club: he said he had taken part in his first training session and the official photo. He also voiced his eagerness to make his debut and play, before signing off with an encouraging message to Getafe.
His official presentation is scheduled for Friday. Until then, his message and first session mark the start of his integration into his new team.
