Raja set for key meeting over Paco Jémez’s future

An imminent meeting is set to decide the fate of Raja coach Paco Jémez. The result has intensified the pressure around the club.

Raja’s start to the season has also become a topic of discussion within the team. The club collected five points from a possible nine in its first three matches, a return that fell short of supporters’ expectations. They had hoped to see a stronger beginning, both in results and performances.

Discontent has also surfaced on social media. Supporters have criticised the team’s overall displays and called for a review of the technical choices, as well as changes that could put the side back on the path to winning. They hope Raja can compete for titles this season.

The meeting with Jémez comes as Raja approaches a continental fixture. The team is preparing to travel to Nigeria to face El-Kanemi Warriors in the second preliminary round of the Confederation Cup. The Raja Sportif delegation is expected to leave on Friday ahead of the match scheduled for next Sunday. The club will seek a positive result to gain an advantage in its continental campaign, with pressure weighing on the technical staff.

The outcome of the discussions should clarify what lies ahead for Jémez. Supporters are waiting to learn whether the club’s leadership will maintain its confidence in the Spanish coach for the next stage or pursue another option. Raja will also need to regain its balance and avoid dropping further points in the coming period.
