Juventus responded after a difficult first half against Celta Vigo, earning a 2-1 comeback win. Nick Woltemade levelled in the 58th minute before substitute Randal Kolo Muani headed home Andrea Cambiaso’s cross in stoppage time to secure victory. The result gives Luciano Spalletti a platform as he works to build a more consistent side.

Woltemade felt he had taken a personal step forward. “I think tonight was my best performance for Juventus. I did some good things, though I can do better. I’m happy with the goal because goals always give you confidence. I want to keep pushing,” he told Sky Sport. He also welcomed the prospect of playing alongside Kolo Muani. In Juventus’ previous match, against Cagliari, the forward had scored. Woltemade likes playing with two strikers, saying it stops the opposing defence from focusing on just one. He praised the pair’s performance and his teammate’s second consecutive goal. Fabio Capello had advocated for the two to play together before kick-off, but Woltemade left the tactical call to Spalletti, saying he had faith in him.

Francisco Conceição, meanwhile, sought to address speculation about his reaction to being substituted. He said he had not wanted to come off while Juventus were performing well, and dismissed suggestions that he had clashed with the coaching staff. He explained that he had gone off to use the bathroom and change his shirt before returning to the field.

The assessment of the match was still qualified: Juventus had not carried out its plan well before the break and had often been late into challenges. The second half, he said, should serve as an example for upcoming matches. The comeback offers encouragement, but the challenge is to deliver a more complete performance from the start.
