Inzaghi explains how Al Hilal found a way past Al Qadsiah

After Al Hilal beat Al Qadsiah in the Saudi Roshn League, Simone Inzaghi said his side had tried to manage its efforts throughout a closely contested match. The Italian coach also played down the fixture’s importance: he did not consider it Al Hilal’s most important game, even as he praised a valuable win against a strong opponent.
“We secured an important victory against a remarkable and strong team with outstanding players. Al Qadsiah produced a great performance and I am happy with this win,” Inzaghi said after the match. His comments acknowledged the opposition’s display while making clear his satisfaction with the outcome.
The coach went on to explain his team’s approach. “We tried to spread our efforts in this demanding match. We were better in the second half and turned things in our favour,” he said, having described both halves as solid. His account placed the emphasis on energy management: in his view, Al Hilal raised its level after the break and shifted the contest in its favour.
Inzaghi also stressed how he views the schedule. “Every match is important,” he said, recalling Al Hilal’s wins over Al Ahli and Al Ittihad in Riyadh, followed by the victory away to Al Qadsiah. “We are aiming for the three points,” he added, describing that target as his team’s approach in every game.
The discussion of energy came against the backdrop of a match in which several players were affected by fatigue. The staff would check on them before the next fixture, the coach said. Looking ahead, Inzaghi announced a training session in Dammam before the team travelled to Doha. He said distance was a factor in that decision and that the team would work to prepare properly for the continental assignment.
The result also changed the picture at the top of the league. Al Hilal moved into first place on 27 points, two ahead of Al Qadsiah. The latter fell to third, behind Al Nassr on goal difference, despite having played one more match.
