Ezzalzouli shuts the door on Paris and Barcelona before the winter window

Abdessamad Ezzalzouli does not want to join Paris Saint-Germain or return to Barcelona for now. With the winter transfer window approaching, the Moroccan winger has chosen to continue his career at Real Betis despite interest from several European clubs. His immediate course is to stay in Andalusia, at least until the end of the season.

Sources close to the player, cited by a media outlet, say he is not thinking about leaving Real Betis in January 2027. Paris Saint-Germain has nevertheless emerged as a possible destination for the Morocco international. The Paris club is considering strengthening its attack after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s injury, but Ezzalzouli does not want to open negotiations to join another team midway through the season. The reported interest from Paris has not, for now, become a desire on the player’s part to move.

Barcelona is no more a part of his current plans. A return to the Catalan club has been mentioned as a possible option in the future, with Barcelona retaining 20% of the player’s rights. That prospect does not alter his present decision: to continue with Real Betis rather than seek a new destination during the winter window.

The choice also reflects his desire to keep developing. At 24, Ezzalzouli believes he can still improve and does not want to rush into another experience. He is aiming to establish himself among Real Betis’ leading attacking players, and his commitment remains total during a season in which the club is competing in the Champions League. Real Betis, for its part, has no intention of making his departure easy.

Ezzalzouli is under contract with Real Betis until June 2029. The deal includes a release clause of around €60 million, a figure presented as reflecting his importance to the club’s sporting project. For now, his priority is to see out the season with his current team, while Paris and Barcelona remain outside his immediate plans.
