Carlos Alcaraz embraces an advisory role at the Laver Cup

Carlos Alcaraz says he has a real taste for offering advice. During the first day of the Laver Cup, where he stood out both on and off the court, the seven-major champion played an active role alongside the European team from the bench.

Described as an exemplary teammate, he was the one who got up from the bench most often among his European teammates to help them. “I try to say things that perhaps cannot be seen from the inside. I love giving advice and sharing my opinion; I even talk too much,” he said.

Alcaraz also spoke of how much he enjoys doubles and his desire to play it more often on the tour. “I love doubles and I would like to play more of it on the tour. The problem is that I have to take care of my body and, at tournaments, focus on recovering my body for singles,” he explained.
