GeneralJesse Marsch calls for Manchester City to be relegated
The former Leeds coach says everyone knew about City’s alleged financial rule-breaking and is calling for a severe punishment.

Roberto Gómez issued a warning after Barcelona’s victory over Real Madrid: “Florentino Pérez could tire of the section,” he said. The journalist discussed the women’s Clásico on La Tribu de Radio MARCA while at Miami airport, travelling to Spain after the X Torneo Internacional LALIGA FC FUTURES Orlando 2026.
He was sharply critical of the scale of the win. “Barcelona’s emphatic victory over Real Madrid seems shameful to me. It demotivates the fans, it demotivates the players,” he said. While acknowledging Barcelona’s superiority, he believes a defeat of this scale could affect the future of Real Madrid’s women’s project. “It is true that Barcelona are normally the superior team, but this humiliation could have two outcomes,” he said.
The first scenario he raised was Florentino Pérez deciding to bring the section’s progress to an end. Gómez described that progress, however, as “fairly good in recent times”. The alternative, he explained, would be for Real Madrid to continue along the same path. He also praised Barcelona’s level, calling them “probably the best team in the world and in history”, while referring to “a bit of revenge, a bit of rivalry and quite a lot of bad blood” around the match.
For the journalist, the gap between the teams affects more than Madrid’s project: “This is very bad for the competition,” he said. He also argued that a result of this kind could demotivate supporters and harm the Madrid club’s women’s project.
During his remarks, Gómez also indicated that there could be news in the field of refereeing, without giving details: “Attention, we will have important news from the world of refereeing. And I’ll leave it there.” He called for support for Fran Soto, saying the president of the refereeing collective had a great deal of work and had handled it very well so far. He added that referees had to meet the standard and said he had the impression that Fran Soto would soon be discussed in a positive light.
