Albert Celades wants Cádiz to take control of the play as the team looks to win at home again. The coach said his side must take the initiative and “be dominant” before hosting Sporting Gijón on Friday, two days ahead of their match in the ninth round of LaLiga Hypermotion.
Celades described the game as “difficult”. He also believes Cádiz can still improve in both phases, defensively and offensively. The squad’s potential is another opportunity, in his view: he pointed to “plenty of room” to raise the level of the players he coaches.
Celades also stressed the importance of the team’s latest result, its first win of the season, secured last week against Leganés (4-0). He cautioned, however, that the victory must not “mislead” his side as it approaches its next fixtures.
The immediate task is to build on that result at home while sticking to the coach’s approach: take charge of the game and continue improving as a team.
