Substitute Mohamed Belloumi helped Hull City secure a 2-2 result against Everton; all four goals came after halftime, and Everton remained unbeaten. Everton remain unbeaten. At the MKM Stadium, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had headed Hull level from a precise Maitland-Niles cross. It was also the first goal Hull had conceded at their stadium this season. Earlier, Brennan Johnson’s opener had been ruled out for offside following a video review.

VAR sent referee Michael Salisbury to the monitor after Johnson forced the ball in when Hull goalkeeper Tzolakis spilled a cross. Everton then created a series of chances: the visitors had eight big opportunities, five of them falling to Thierno Barry. After missing a close-range chance — failing to make contact with a pass that appeared to offer a simple finish — Barry eventually scored, set up by Dewsbury-Hall.

Earlier in the match, Gelhardt had capitalised on a Maitland-Niles error to beat Pickford and put Hull ahead. James Tarkowski also diverted a Gelhardt effort wide, while Barry headed Jack Grealish’s cross over. Belloumi, left on the bench after the international break because of tiredness, came on and levelled with a low shot past Pickford. Hull secured a share of the points, while Everton extended their unbeaten run.
