Trezeguet snatches a draw for Al-Riyadh against Al-Fayha

Al-Riyadh and Al-Fayha drew 1-1 on Sunday in the eighth round of the Saudi Pro League. Trailing, Al-Riyadh avoided defeat through a late goal from Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet. The match also marked the forward’s return after he had recently been sidelined by a hamstring injury. He began on the bench before coming on after the interval.

He headed home from the middle of the penalty area, meeting a cross from teammate Fahad Al-Jizani and sending the ball into the right-hand corner.

The draw takes Al-Riyadh to 9 points and Al-Fayha to 7, with both sides seeking to improve their positions in the Saudi Pro League table. Before the eighth round began, Al-Riyadh had 8 points and sat 11th, while Al-Fayha were 12th with 6 points. Each team therefore adds a point to its tally.
