The player returned to Cairo with a bad cold and a high temperature, then informed the medical staff. They put him under the medical protocol used in such cases, El-Moneiri said. The measures include isolation and keeping him away from team training, as well as a chest X-ray and general tests for viruses.
The test results were reassuring and Hamdan’s condition is stable, the medical chief added. His return to team training will depend on his condition remaining stable and his making a full recovery. He can then resume training with the squad as normal to prepare for the matches in the next phase.
