Ramis was unhappy with the refereeing after Osasuna lost 5-2 away to Betis on Sunday in the eighth round of LaLiga EA Sports. Coach Luis Miguel Ramis said some decisions were going against his team: “They are punishing us.” He was referring in particular to a foul not given on one of his players with the score at 3-2, an incident he felt could have changed the course of the match.
Ramis also accepted that his team had to take responsibility, saying they needed to “look inward” after errors that cost them many goals. Still, he stressed that Osasuna had not had good fortune in some refereeing decisions.
Reflecting on the opening stages, he called the penalty that put Betis ahead harsh and said his side had not been playing badly enough to deserve to trail 1-0. The second goal, he added, came from an error that needed to be fixed.
At 3-2, the coach said, one incident could have swung the match. Discussing the involvement of Natan and Rubén, he said he did not understand “that kind of refereeing decision”.
Despite the result, Ramis took encouragement from the second half and urged his team to “pick ourselves up calmly and get some rest”. He regretted that Osasuna had not held on to 3-2 for longer, which would have shown how much they were doing well.
