Lucas Torreira calls Barcelona “the best team in the world”

“We are facing the best team in the world,” Lucas Torreira said ahead of the Champions League meeting between Galatasaray and Barcelona. The Uruguayan midfielder also made clear that his team would not abandon its way of playing against the Catalan club, who are due to visit Galatasaray.

Torreira believes his side will need to produce its best to have a chance of winning. Barcelona’s midfield is a particular concern for him. In his view, the club’s players seek to control games through possession, then tire their opponents before attacking. Despite that threat, Galatasaray will prepare as it does for other matches and intends to retain an aggressive approach when defending, looking to cause damage when it can win the ball back.

Torreira also stressed how important the fans’ backing will be. He said the team is highly motivated and believes it can be a great night, with the hope of bringing joy to its supporters.
