On the eve of the Champions League match against Galatasaray, Flick chose not to dwell on the crisis between Real Madrid and Spanish refereeing. The Barcelona coach said his team was focused on the fixture in Turkey, stressing the need for thorough preparation and a united defence.

“I will not comment on Real Madrid’s crisis; these matters concern other teams. We are going to face Galatasaray and we must respect that,” he said. Flick also warned of a demanding contest: “We must prepare well, the atmosphere here is wonderful and impressive, the opponent has quality and strength, and we must remain united defensively.”

He said he was pleased with his team’s performances, while noting that every match brings a different experience. “I am happy with what we are producing, every match is different and is a new experience, and tomorrow’s match is very difficult and represents a challenge for us,” he added. Flick also underlined the value of hard work and mindset: “We work hard, the road is long, the mindset makes the difference and gradually gives us confidence.”

In the 2026-2027 season, Barcelona will look to extend its positive results in this second matchday of the league phase, on Tuesday evening. Asked whether Vinícius Júnior could feature in the next Clásico, Flick put off the discussion: “As for Vinícius Júnior’s participation in the Clásico, you can ask me again in two weeks.”
