Pau Cubarsí has commented on Real Madrid’s criticism of Spanish refereeing on the eve of FC Barcelona’s match against Galatasaray. The defender spoke at a press conference on Monday ahead of Tuesday evening’s fixture, which is part of the second matchday of the 2026-2027 season.
Cubarsí said his attention was on his team and preparing for the coming matches, rather than tensions away from the pitch. “I’m not focused on Real Madrid’s comments about Spanish refereeing; my focus is on my team and making our supporters happy, so it doesn’t interest me,” he said.
The defender also discussed FC Barcelona’s form. He said the team does not see itself as unbeatable, while maintaining that it has the confidence to continue its positive results. “I don’t feel that FC Barcelona is invincible, but we have confidence, we’re going through a fantastic period and we have to keep going.”
Cubarsí expects a demanding match against Galatasaray. He stressed the need for caution against an opponent playing on its own ground and, in his view, showing a strong personality on the pitch. He also pointed to Victor Osimhen as a threat, saying his attacking influence will need to be limited during the match.
