Sevilla and Levante drew 3-3 at the RCDE Stadium after a dramatic finish. Sevilla had built a two-goal lead, but stoppage time brought three goals and a sending-off. The point saved Luis Castro’s team: a defeat would have sent it into the relegation places. Sevilla had let a win that looked within reach slip away.
Sevilla set out to make an early breakthrough and went ahead quickly. Félix Correia first missed a good chance, before Fofana and Robbie Ure put Levante’s defence under pressure; the Scottish forward scored the second goal in the 10th minute. Miguel Sierra then hit the crossbar, before Ure nodded the ball back for Félix Correia to make it 0-2. The deficit made Levante’s task much harder, but did not stop the team from responding.
With Agoumé, Kochorashvili and Fofana providing greater strength in midfield, Sevilla restricted the opposition for long stretches. Levante struggled to move forward, while Dela produced its only genuinely dangerous chance before the break. But Iván Romero’s goal, from a ball that took a touch off Kike Salas, brought Levante back into the match. Luis Castro’s team pressed and equalised in the 92nd minute, then Dela struck. Ndukwe eventually brought Levante level after a series of ricochets in the box. Sevilla had let the three points escape in the closing moments.
