Savic has returned to Al-Hilal’s full training ahead of the match against Al-Sadd, scheduled for Tuesday evening in the AFC Champions League Elite group stage. The Serbian midfielder has completed his rehabilitation programme, and the club considers him ready to play.
Savic had been sidelined by an injury that kept him out of the match against Al-Ittihad of Jeddah. He rejoined the group on Monday, with the meeting against Qatar’s Al-Sadd approaching.
Al-Hilal will, however, be without Salem Al-Dawsari. The captain’s absence is confirmed: he is continuing treatment and rehabilitation for a foot-joint injury sustained before the match against Al-Ittihad.
The club comes into this continental fixture after opening its campaign with a 2-1 win over Qatar’s Al-Gharafa. That result provides an early positive marker ahead of Tuesday’s game, while Savic’s return gives the team another option.
